Jewellery and Glass Work

Design has always played an important part in my life and development as a creative soul. From my early days at college studying firstly sculpture before I found my main focus within painting and photographic screen printing to my earliest foray into silverwork. I then qualified as a special needs teacher spending part of my career running an art and craft department for six years, introducing pupils of varying abilities to the wonders of using clay, paint and photography in order to develop their creative potential.

I so often found that pupils with social, emotional and behavioural problems would blossom once introduced to a creative means of self-expression. Early retirement brought me opportunities to return to my first love - silver and glass, although now I use precious metal clay for my creations and often combine this with Dichroic glass which seems to enhance the qualities of both mediums.

My Glass Work is on display at the Lyn Valley Arts and Craft Centre, Lynton, North Devon together with a range of shell and semi-precious silver-plated jewellery

Recently I was thrilled to be given the opportunity by Sue Randall of Sunsari Ltd. to design a range of jewellery using silver and gemstones - I embraced this opportunity and found my inspiration for the designs within the beautiful natural environment that I am privileged to live in.
